Celebrating Life
Samuel Fernandez-Carriba, PhD, decided not to let the resurgence of his cancer determine the course of his life and threw one final party with all of his loved ones. His "La Fiesta de la Vida" raised money to support the growing worldwide Compassion community. The party took place on Oct. 29, 2022, and raised over $2,500. Samuel passed away on Nov. 26 of the following month.
He will be missed.

Standing for Change
Members of the student body at Otterbein University rallied in the school's main square to demand change and racial equality across a range of issues.
As someone who, as a baby, once said their ultimate career goal was to be president, things have certainly changed for me. I started down the path of working in media because I didn't know what to do with my life. What I did know was that:
I loved meeting new people,
I loved traveling,
… and I was good at writing.
Over 10 years of photography and writing has taught me a lot, but all those lessons can be summed up in two words:
People Matter.
Whether it's capturing the winning shot of the game, a reunion of lost souls, a portrait of a friend, or the story of defeat against insurmountable odds, the focus is on people. So join me as I strive to walk the path of giants before me and tell the stories of people.
